WOMEN OF BELARUS

2020

In 2020, massive peaceful protests began in Belarus in response to Lukashenko's fraudulent elections. They were met with extreme violence, mass arrests, torture, and ongoing human rights violations. Belarusian women have played a crucial role in this protest movement, from the elected president Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya to the thousands of women protesting daily.
